Everyone is so shocked. Zan’s mom said that the boy used to come over and play basketball with Zan’s older brother. No one had any clue that he was unhappy. He was an athlete and had even been on the sports pages a few times.

Like I said, I don’t know them very well, but it’s still so jarring. Turbo was a little freaked out and has wanted to watch the news the past few nights to see if there would be anything about our neighbor.

(I know this is uncharacteristically downer-y, but it’s been on my mind these past few days and I needed to acknowledge it somehow. Thanks for listening.)
